A prayer journal is one of the simplest ways to build a steady, honest relationship with God. Writing your prayers slows you down, helps you notice what God is doing in your life, and gives you a record of answered prayers to look back on. Here you’ll find Christian prayer journals, Bible study printables and practical ideas to make journaling part of your daily time with God.

Getting Started with a Prayer Journal
You don’t need special words or a lot of time. A few minutes a day is enough to begin:
- Pick a regular time, such as first thing in the morning or before bed, and keep your journal where you’ll see it.
- Start with gratitude. Write two or three things you’re thankful for today.
- Bring your requests to God. List what’s on your heart and the people you’re praying for.
- Read a short passage of Scripture and write one thing it shows you about God.
- Record answered prayers. Looking back on them is one of the most encouraging parts of keeping a journal.

A Simple Bible Study Method for Your Journal
Many Christians use a four-step method that works well on a single journal page:
- Scripture: write out the verse you’re reading.
- Observation: what does the passage say?
- Application: how does it apply to your life today?
- Prayer: respond to God in your own words.
