A blank journal page can feel intimidating, even when your heart is full. Prayer journal prompts give you a gentle place to start: one honest question that opens the door to a real conversation with God. Below you’ll find 50 prayer journal prompts for women, grouped by theme so you can choose what fits the season you’re in.
You don’t need to answer them in order or finish them all. Pick one prompt, write for five or ten minutes, and end by talking to God about what came up. That’s a prayer journal.
How to Use These Prayer Journal Prompts
- Choose a theme for the week, such as gratitude or hard seasons, and work through a few prompts from that section.
- Write your answer as a prayer. Instead of “I’m worried about…”, try “Lord, I’m worried about…”. It turns reflection into conversation.
- Add a verse. If a passage comes to mind, write it next to your answer and come back to it during the week.
- Date every entry. Months from now, you’ll be able to look back and see how God answered.
